Presenter: Dr. Newton Miller
Summary: We
greatly appreciate our Associate Faculty here at Ashford University and hold
you in high esteem. We’ve heard the concerns many have expressed about the wide
differences in preparation demonstrated among our students and the types of
personal challenges many students face. We also know it can be challenging to
balance strict adherence to academic policies with the flexibility inherent in
academic freedom. In this presentation brought to you by Ashford University's Equity Council, Dr. Newton Miller discusses the following:
- Understanding
student mindsets: Why do students think the way they do? How do those
mindsets manifest themselves in classroom performance?
- The
delicate balance: How much flexibility and academic freedom do you really
have to help your students be successful?
-
Effective practices for Ashford students:
What are some strategies, and approaches to those strategies, proven to
positively impact student success?
